The following is a general potential road map for CS learning for different class levels. Of course, it’s never too late to start learning – Students can start at any age!

Class 6-12: Apply skills through real world competition
We believe the purpose of studying computer science is to use it to solve real world problems. Starting in high school, students can apply their skills in various competitions. Our two favorites: Congress application challenges (maturity late October) and Science Fair by Society for Science (deadlines vary by region, often the end of the year). This is also the right time to learn Python as early as possible. Data Science, AI Creator, Cellular Codean, and Web Development is a popular class for competition. Cellular coding for application and game classes (classes 5-10)

There are two AP examinations related to computer science: AP Computer Science Principles (CSP) and AP Computer Science A (CSA). This test is a general milestone for high school students. They are challenging but can be done for 9 or 10th grade students, for those who start learning coding in high school or earlier. Register in November and exam in May. Intro to Java Programming (AP CSA is aligned) (Class 7-10)
